Smith & Wesson revolvers are nothing short of legendary. Not too long ago, they reintroduced the Model 14 .38 Special revolver as part of its classics line. The line is sort of a homage to what they consider their legends, and like the others, the Model 14 is no slouch.
One of my favorite revolvers occupying space in my safe happens to be a .38 special K38 Target Masterpiece. For those that have read some of my previous reviews know that I have a thing for long barreled handguns. This K38 has a 8 3/8in barrel and was in mint condition when I got it.
With a lineage that started as the .38 Hand Ejector in 1899, it was only three short years later it was produced in the .38 Special. In 1920, this series was renamed the Military and Police (M&P) with a designation of K-38: K-frame .38 Special.
