About Smith Wesson Model 21

The S&W Model 21 4'' is a revolver from the N-framed line of Smith & Wesson. The frame of this model is made out of metal providing a sturdy foundation for the N-frame representative.

The original Model 21 revolver was produced from 1950 to 1966. It did not gain great popularity at the time and only about 1200 were ever made. Smith & Wesson re-introduced this 'N'-frame revolver as part of their 'Classics' series in 2007. This new Model 21 employs a carbon steel frame and cylinder with various finishes. Grip options are the classic checkered grip or a larger modern smooth wood grip. Although a sound design, this second offering of the Model 21 was not a great seller either, and has been discontinued.
